Pi Day...time to get back to business

I am declaring the month-long Sinus Headache from Hell to be over with now (even though it's not - I need to buy stock in the Sudafed company).... but first I want you all to have one of my homemade moon pies in celebration of Pi Day!!

So this past month....sick kids, sick Mommy, sick Daddy, plus Daddy had at least three job interviews and has another next week, we've been selling everything we own that's bigger than a bread box in preparation of our upcoming move (as soon as we figure out where we're moving), and then the world began falling apart and spewing all kinds of death and destruction all over Japan.
It's been a hell of a month.

So basically, when I'm not reeling in pain from sinus pressure, I have been glued to CNN watching the aftermath of the recent tsunami. Plus, I live on the coast of Oregon, so we had our own little brush with Tsunami 2011 as we had no idea what was going to happen in our own backyard last Friday morning. Luckily the tsunami waves stayed within the high-tide mark and our lives were not directly affected unlike all of the people in Japan who have lost so much.

To add incredible insult to injury, the tsunami fell on the anniversary of my mother's birth. March 11 has always had a special place in my heart as Mom's birthday, and I still celebrate it even though she has been gone five long years...but Mother Nature decided to throw one of her biggest earthquake parties on my special day I reserve for my mother.
So screw you, Mother Freaking Nature, and the tsunami wave you rode in on!!

Ahem. *pulls shirt back down*

So this week I am getting back on the editing horse. I need to re-establish my working hours, as next week the kids have spring break so my days will all be crazy again. Hopefully the weather will stay calm enough for us actually do something, at least that is our plan. My son has been home from China for over two years and the poor kid hasn't yet been to the zoo, so we need to fix that situation STAT! *growl! roar!*

So happy Pi Day and happy reading!!!

(I, for one, am still reading the Percy Jackson series, which is so awesome, plus I am now friends with Rick Riordan on Facebook and that is just BEYOND COOL. I love the internet...have I mentioned that lately??)
